40 years ago, as a result of a wave of strikes across Poland and the signing of the August Agreements, Independent Self-governing Trade Union "Solidarity" was established. Two of the four agreements were signed in Silesia. This gave rise to the Śląsko-Dąbrowska "Solidarity". Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki took part in the regional anniversary celebrations. During his visit, he also met entrepreneurs at the 12th European Economic Congress in Katowice and visited the Historic Guido Coal Mine in Zabrze.
