Tomasz Siemoniak
Minister of National Defence

He was born on 2 July 1967.
A graduate of the Foreign Trade Department at Warsaw School of Economics and a scholarship holder of the University of Duisburg (Germany).
He was a member of the Independent Students Association (NZS), where he was acting as the chairman of NZS at Main School of Planning and Statistics and a secretary of the National Coordination Committee. In the years 1994-1996, he worked at Telewizja Polska SA as, among other things, the Manager of the Office for Field Branches and the Director of Channel 1. In 1997, he was a coordinator of the Media and Democracy programme at the Institute of Public Affairs. In the years 1998-2000, he was the director of the Press and Information Office at the Ministry of National Defence. Between 1998 and 2002, he acted as the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Polish Press Agency. In the years 1998-2000, he was a member of the Warszawa-Centrum Commune Council and the Deputy Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Council. From December 2000 till July 2002, he acted as the Deputy Mayor of Warsaw. In the years 2002-2006, he was a Member of the Management Board of Polskie Radio SA and from November 2006 till November 2007 he acted as the Deputy Marshal at the Marshal’s Office of the Mazowieckie Province.
He is married with two children: a son and a daughter.
