Jacek Cichocki
Minister of the Interior and Control of Special and Intelligence Services
Born on 17th December 1971 in Warsaw.
Graduated in sociology at the Philosophy and Sociology Department of Warsaw University. In 1992-2008 worked in the Eastern Studies Centre in Warsaw successively as expert on armed conflicts and ethnic problems in the countries of the former USSR, head of the Team for Caucasus and Central Asia, head of Ukraine, Belarus and Baltic Countries Division.
In 2001-2004 deputy director and in 2004-2007 director of Centre for Eastern Studies. In 1995-1997 worked as programme assistant in Stefan Batory Foundation in the East-Central Europe Forum.
Specialises in energy problems.
Married with three daughters and a son.
